18ct Gold and French Enamel Ring

This is the first Limoges enamel ring that I have had in stock and she is absolutely beautiful!

She is signed on the back "C. Chéron France". Emaux Chéron is an enamel and jewellery producer in Limoges, France. The region is famous for their porcelain and enamel works. Limoges white enamel is an opalescent powdered enamel that is worked in many layers and multiple firings. Gold or silver foil is added with some layers which produces the incredible shimmer that these pieces often have. 

This shimmery glow can be seen in the greens and oranges of the hat and clothing portrayed in this stunning ring. 

Mounted in a rich 18ct gold bezel, this ring is not only beautiful but very comfortable to wear. 

This ring weighs 3.1 grams and is sized approx 55 or US 7.5. The bezel is approx 10 x 14mm. The ring shank joins the bezel with a beautiful fleur de lis design as seen in images.

This enamel portrait is soldered into to the ring from behind the bezel. It may have originally come from another piece of jewellery. The enamel is in excellent condition. The ring does have some scratches commensurate with age.
