A note about Rolled Gold...
Rolled Gold was popularised in the early 19th century. It involves the fusing of a sheet of carat gold to a sheet of base metal such as brass or copper. It is similar to gold plating but contains a much higher gold content (a thicker layer of gold) and as such is more durable.
